While there are many Islands and Waterfront opportunities in Ontario, Goffat Island compares most favourably in it's size and historical value vis-à-vis price point and proximity to Toronto (1¼ hour and change of freeway driving).  Not to mention a stone's throw away from the hot Orillia market, and now that Barrie is emerging as premier waterfront for the Toronto Diaspora as they escape the craziness of the Metropolis.

Goffat Island is a historical island, c1830, the namesake of the then Post Master General.  The Brothers of Christian Schools of Ontario purchased it in 1928 for their private retreat.  It is just over 11 acres with approximately 3,600' of water frontage with 7 structures used to house a retreat for the Brothers of the Christian Schools of Ontario -  including a lodge and a dock.  It is about 200 meters from the shores of Lake Simcoe where situates the Pairing Parcel at 4739 Cedar Point Lane comprises of a 1/3 acre lot with both open and covered parking space and a Boat Launch. It has approximately 64.36 feet of frontage on Lake Simcoe with approximately 237 feet of depth.
